I do so enjoy the composition of your photos, Kit.You do it so effortlessly yet there is just enough balance and proportion in your photos.I do not think everyone knows how to do it effectively and a lot of people take this for granted.
Yes, balance is the key...actually my compositional skills improved when I got a digicam -- somehow, looking at a shot with both eyes instead of just one when peering into the viewfinder seems to help a lot. Of course, unlike a consumer digicam, my DSLR has no "live preview" (ie no live image on the LCD during shooting) which means that I still have to use one eye to compose my shot. The difference is I can immediately see the shot I just took and change composition and reshoot immediately if necessary. With film, it was such a hit-and-miss affair.
